Terry and her husband Gary Ward lived in Baldwin City, KS and in 2005 Terry was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis.  Wanting to help  others living with MG in the area, she organized a support group in Lawrence and led the group’s first meeting in  January 2009.  Terry passed away        unexpectedly the next month because of a sudden illness complicated by Myasthenia Gravis.  In her memory, the Support Group and the MG Walk For Awareness continue.  In 2009, the Walk attracted 64 people and raised $3,720.  Last year attendance grew to over 100 and a total of over $20,000 has been raised.

Terry’s daughters, Amy Gaines, Julie Hoffer and Lisa Rundell, are Walk Coordinators along with MGA Board President, Dennis Wise.  These determined volunteers are hoping that you’ll attend this year’s Walk,  become a sponsor or make a contribution!  Walk or not — Come have a good time!
